Watersports in Abundance
Watersports and Activity Centre at Rother Valley Country Park
Boards, boats, sails and paddles, whatever your taste we have it covered. We guarantee the whole family will have gallons of fun at Rother Valley’s Watersports Activity Centre. From water zorbing to paddle boarding, nothing gets the excitement flowing quite like water and with our fully trained instructors you’ll think you’re an expert in no time!

Wakeboarding, waterskiing and aqua park
Ever fancied a go at wakeboarding or water-skiing? At the south end of Rother Valley’s main lake you’ll find one of the finest full-sized cable systems in the UK. With kickers, rails and bars there’s plenty to test even the most seasoned rider.
Just starting out? no worries, book an introduction to wakeboarding session with the cable ski instructors and they will soon have you kneeboarding around the lake in style. Either way, we guarantee you will get a great work out, have tremendous fun and get very very wet!
Less energetic family members can relax at the fully licensed bar, grab a snack, sip drinks and soak up the cosmopolitan atmosphere, while watching all the action unfold.
Turn your head right and you will be sucked into the world of ‘Total Wipeout’. One of the biggest inflatable outdoor water assault course’s in the UK. Complete with huge inflatable slides, trampolines, climbing walls, runways and the famous blast bag. This activity offers fantastic fun for all the family. Well, maybe not grandma and grandad, but they’ll certainly love watching!

Walks, tracks, and trails
From the minute you leave your caravan, tent or motorhome you’re only a stone’s throw away from some amazing walks. Teaming with wildlife all year round, each trip out is sure to be an adventure. Backing onto the 215 mile Trans Pennine Trail, there’s plenty to challenge even the hardest of walker.
With paths, bridleways and National Cycle Networks criss-crossing the park, this is the perfect place for mountain bikers. Our varied terrain provides suitable routes for all abilities and if you don’t want to bring your own equipment, we have a fantastic range of cycles, child trailers and adapted accessibility bikes available for hire in our designated Cycle Centre.

Mountain Bike Trials
If you like cycling there are mountain bike trails right next to the campsite through the park and if you wish to cycle off road you can on the Trans Pennine Trail to Chesterfield, Sheffield and Rotherham. On the road the park links to the National Cycle route Sustrans Route 6.

The Cycle Hire Centre within Rother Valley offers numerous opportunities to cycle around the park; traditional bikes, mountain bikes, and children’s cycles, child bike carriers, accessible cycles, go karts, mobility scooters, wheelchairs, family cycles for up to 6 people to use at once.

With some spectacular views, Rother Valley’s Golf Centre offers some pretty cool facilities. Master your driving on the 26 bay floodlit range with automated Powertee mats. Take in a short round on the 9 Hole, Par 3 or go straight for the 18 Hole ‘Blue Monster’. Whatever your level we have something for you.
For all footie fans there’s the extremely popular Footgolf. This relatively new sport sees players kick a spherical association football into a cup in as few shots as possible and is great fun for groups and parties.

Fancy a bit of fishing?
Downstream of the country parks regulator bridge you’ll find Rother Valleys Northern Lake. In this beautiful setting you can fish for roach, carp, pike and many more species. Day tickets can be purchased from the park rangers, but don’t forget your fishing licence.

Meet Basil – The Miniature train
Ride the miniature train at Rother Valley Country Park*
The Rother Valley Country Park railway is the home to Basil. This friendly little train runs on a 800m long seven and a quarter inch track, adjacent to the main Rother Valley lake. Basil has the capacity to carry up to 26 people at any one time, including facilities for wheelchair users, pushchair users and even dog walkers.
